Callous Behavior

As events in our lives become more and more distant, their memory blends in with the other events of the days, weeks, and years that adjoin them until they become so faint that they seemingly dissolve.

That once burdensome memory becomes lighter and lighter over time until the only marker that remains is a steeled yet supple spot on the heart; the site of an internal battle fought and won, or a callous area… the site of battles that linger on.

The callouses guide us. They warn us.

Our parents used them as badges. A way of identifying each others choices. Honor, respect, duty, shame. etc. They had badges for everything.

Living in sentiment facilitates this type behavior. It’s a type of dreaming that doesn’t have much use for the present.

The badges help to remind us. We work to forget them, hoping that in doing so we will be free from them.

Those of us in pain look for them on others; searching for our broken match, dreaming of catching the hapless soul responsible for our loss, for our guilt, for our rage.

We really do try.

We contextualize. We revisit those callous areas.

We ultimately forgive ourselves just enough to get by because no one likes to be bled on. Unless they are bleeding too, then they don’t notice.

Too many noticeable scars… and we fight to show that we are something else.

Not enough… and we fiercely claim their legitimacy.

There are wounds that might be too faint for anyone else to see, and someone needs to know that they are indeed there.

The sad truth is that we all have too many scars.

Callouses restrict our range of motion. Maybe our bodies know that in hardening themselves, we risk less.

Punishment gives birth to armor.

It’s not the bleeding that is so bad as it is the stains. Once someone sees us with a stain, we know we will forever be that in their eyes.

They are to us.

Too us, I suppose.

Don’t they know that without claiming to be something, we feel at risk of not being anything?

We’ve seen the people they told us are not anything. They don’t treat them like people.

So we choose.

Badges. Labels. Bruises. Callouses.

We are them, politely, until we are no longer.

Faded.

We roam.

The Science of Thoughts as “Things”

From http://www.healthstresswellness.com/index.asp?pgid=72

Neuropeptides are the ‘molecules of emotions’.

Peptides are miniscule pieces of protein. Protein comes from the Greek word ‘proteios’, meaning primary. Proteins are the first material of life as we know it. Peptides consist of strings of amino acids of varying lengths, joined together in a necklace by very strong bonds made of carbon and nitrogen.

Between 10 and 100 amino acids that form a strong bond, are called peptides. Between 100 to 200 are called polypeptides and more than 200 are called proteins. Amino acids are the letters that when combined in certain sequences, form the words that are peptides, or the sentences that are polypeptides or proteins.

These make up a language that forms and directs the function of every single cell, organ and system inside the body, from the deepest vibrations of the DNA molecule inside the nucleus of every cell, to the macrocosmic systems function of the whole individual being.

A better term for the peptides might be informational substances.

Other common peptides include the endorphins (our own happy hormones), insulin (responsible for blood sugar control), vasopressin (responsible for blood pressure), sex hormone releasing hormones, serotonin (the feel-good neurotransmitter).

All the neuropeptides have a similar molecular structure, with subtle differences in the tertiary structure, meaning that only the frequency and amplitude at which each molecule oscillates (wavelike vibrations of electrons in each molecule), differ.

Neuropeptides change configuration (like a chameleon) due to emotional influence, according to specific thoughts and emotions. Depending on the thoughts and emotions, specific neuropeptides are made in the brain and nervous system, white blood cells, reproductive system, digestive system and heart, to name but a few. They form a two-way network between psyche and soma, mind and body.

Emotions like bitterness, unresolved anger, resentment, fear and worry constantly trigger your stress response. These then become buried in ever deepening layers inside the cell memories. The layers become the physical footprints of your dream body, psyche or soul, manifesting in physical illness or chronic health problems. Once the cell memories are wakened, they can reach the conscious mind, so that you can make contact with your whole, integrated human beingness, leading to the identification of the deep issues that might play a role in the disease process. Through this, disease becomes a teacher potentially leading to important life lessons, personal and spiritual growth and healing from the inside out. The choice and free will to follow this path, is yours!

Facebook: A Multi-Dimension Zoo

It has been prophesied that humankind is awakening to its true nature as multi dimensional beings.

Beings of light that have been constrained and restrained and trained not to know their true nature, we are slowly becoming aware of our divine nature and the divine nature of all that is. We are becoming “homogalactus” or “homodivinicus”. We are shifting away from the thought that we are humans evolved from apes, to hue-mans… evolved from light.

Interestingly, it appears as if social media has played a large role in latest part of that evolution. However, Facebook seems to now be the equivalent of people watching at the zoo, except admission is free, parking isn’t a hassle, and no one is stepping on my shoes.

I get to see adorable children and animals doing funny and amazing things. I get a little inspiration, and every now and then, I even get to see people arguing over their interpretation of current events.

The truly amazing thing though, and again, this is just my opinion, is that random funny videos and pics aside, everyone seems to truly believe in what they are sharing, regardless of their political, social, or spiritual views.

In 50-60 years from now, when kids are using it to mine data for their “social media history” class, I wonder what they are going to think when they see that we were some of the meanest, cruelest, misguided, callous, and uniformed people on the planet, and simultaneously some of the most hopeful, humorous, compassionate, and caring.

I hope they see that we were all doing our best, and maybe… just maybe, see that while we were slow to rise from our waking dream, we realized early on that it doesn’t really matter what we share, it’s the sharing itself that makes a difference.

With that that though, I must say, I’m not going to the zoo everyday anymore.

Instead, I think I’ll take my dog for a walk and continue to try and wake up from this dream… a dream of contrasting truths and subtle fictions. For me, Facebook has served its purpose, and it has served it well.

If Facebook is any indication of the collective consciousness in America, it appears as if we are quickly trying to resolve our culture of separation through a drone of non-stop sharing and commentating that is bringing some kind of non-homogenized yet unified field of awareness closer and closer through a incessant torrent of “likes” and “shares”… a place where every color is seen with the awareness that regardless of what we see, the truth is known that all is light.

A Liberating Education: Freeing the Mind via Direct Contact with Strong Ideas.

There’s a saying in the liberal arts world that everything that one needs to learn in order to be a culturally and socially aware person and live a conscious life can be learned by spending 15 minutes a day reading from a collection of books that could fit on a five-foot shelf.

The idea of the “Five Foot Shelf”, “has been described as a philosophy of education that empowers individuals with broad knowledge and transferable skills, and a stronger sense of values, ethics, and civic engagement… characterised by challenging encounters with important issues, and more a way of studying than a specific course or field of study.”

According to Wikipedia,

“The decline of liberal education is often attributed to mobilization during the Second World War. The premium and emphasis placed upon mathematics, science, and technical training caused the loss of its prominent position in higher education studies.”

Initially, a liberal arts education was intended to produce a “virtuous, knowledgeable, and articulate person.” And then, like with everything else it seems, learning came to be controlled by the church. The church added arithmetic, geometry, and astronomy to the core courses and ultimately a liberal arts education was deemed a luxury… an education fit for those who came from wealth.

For me, what’s interesting about this evolution in education is that once one learns how to read of course, the ideas contained in the books on the “Five Foot Shelf”, teach on their own. Opposed to the math and science where instruction is usually necessary, no teacher is required for the books on the five foot shelf.

The books expose the reader to integrity through various ways of thinking and that provides the opportunity to view the world differently. Each book builds upon the next, regardless of the order one reads them in. All the while informing the reader of new potential thought processes that invite the reader to integrate the mindsets they like and rejecting the ones they do not.

So the next time you consider reading a book.  Take a look at the this anthology (collection/list of books)  and pick something you’ve never read by someone you’ve never heard of… chances are, the book will express a way of thinking that you’ve never considered.

We’re all doing our best to be happy, so we use what works for us, and discard what doesn’t.

At what point should one stop learning new ways to be happy though?

Ho’oponopono

Every culture has their own way of expressing The One Truth, aka the Perennial Philosophy.

In the Hawaiian culture, the process of clearing Karma is called “Ho’oponopono.”

It is Simple. Profound. Elegant. Effective.

Simply repeat the four lines for every thought, deed, action, or expression you have ever felt remorse for or victimized by with sincerity and one can release and be released from all karmic ties.

Simple. Not easy. Simple.

Costs of Operations

I don’t pay too much attention to mainstream politics anymore, yet the supreme court DOMA hearings and the recent Monsanto Bill has brought to mind how it seems like most people still think that politics are actually real. It mystifies me.

The data that the majority of television and journalistic programming is controlled by a handful of corporations exists and has been available for years. Why would anyone still pay attention to the puppet show except to see who’s hand is up currently up their ass?

Sorry. I don’t mean to be crass. Really though… “I’m just saying”.

Chris Hedges, a journalist who used to write for the New York Times, and who writes about the media in the U.S. recently wrote,

The celebrity trolls who currently reign on commercial television, who bill themselves as liberal or conservative, read from the same corporate script. They spin the same court gossip. They ignore what the corporate state wants ignored. They champion what the corporate state wants championed. They do not challenge or acknowledge the structures of corporate power.

So why the current circus about gay marriage?

One likely reason gay marriage is feared by the “Powers That Were” is because legalizing it would mean the end to the decades old practice of blackmailing low level political operatives for homosexual acts. For the record, that means congressmen, senators, and presidents.

(BTW… Low Level Political Operative = LOL POOP)

Do any amount of reading on the “Bohemian Grove” or watch the banned-from-TV documentary Conspiracy of Silence and one can start to get a glimpse of the true reality of politricks in the United States.

Think about it… The people that are against DOMA regularly take money from lobbyist who work for companies that consider fines for fraud as “a cost of operations” and think of murder and torture in terms of “collateral damage”. Do you really believe it’s about morality or ethics?

When the Monsanto bill was attached as a “rider” to the Agricultural Appropriations Bill and secretly pushed through congress, Facebook lit up with rants about how Obama is the devil. One of my friends, who is a thoughtful and conscious being, wrote that Obama “was vested either ideologically or financially” in Monsanto and then proceeded to list things like a new jet, or a loads of cash, as the probable reasons Obama signed the bill.

I wrote back that  I didn’t see any consideration given to possibilities such as his family being harmed, or a school shooting happening, or an earthquake being used to cause a nuclear meltdown, etc.. if he didn’t sign, and within minutes he admitted that he forgot the “personal threat angle.”

I dont present this example to blow my horn, my goal is to use it to illustrate how the pervasive logic that everyone in government is out for themselves is a narrative straight from the headlines that are owned and operated by the same people that run Monsanto.

How likely is it that it is the ultimate truth?

If one looks into the history of how the U.S. government is managed and how presidents are controlled a world of deceit, violence, coercion, and blackmail emerges as the norm.  This is the world that the MSM never focuses on. Because the MSM is a TOOL for the corporate power, they’d love for you to believe that it’s always about the money. In actuality though, if they’re PRINTING TRILLIONS, and earning BILLIONS, and how big of a deal is a few hundred million?

Would you poison someone for a hundred million? How about a billion? Would you do it to save your wife and kid? Would you do it to save a million people? Read a few chapters of “The Franklin Cover Up,” and then think about the reality of being “ideologically or financially” vested.

People, including children and families, are being raped, tortured, and murdered… it’s not always about the money and we do ourselves a disservice in adhering to the narrative that it is.

“Their” game is about POWER and CONTROL.

Money is a tool to those who crave POWER. No more, no less.

Comprehending and Dealing with “Selling” Syndrome

In this post I’m going to discuss a frequent and common problem that happens to many of us once we start to wake up to the truth of the reality that we live in.

I call it “Selling Syndrome”, or “Come With Me! Disorder”.

SYMPTOMS

It usually happens this way.

“Person A” reads a book, or blog, or watches a film that profoundly effects them to the point of making real changes in their life. In the midst of making those changes Person A reaches out to their friends, family, and pretty much anyone that will listen, a.k.a. “Everyone ELSE/The Public”, and begins to tell them about this GREAT NEW WAY of seeing and experiencing the world and how THEY SHOULD JOIN THEM ON THIS INCREDIBLE JOURNEY.

Person A tells Everyone how great it is, and how much better the world would be for Everyone IF THEY WOULD JUST DO WHAT THEY DID!

The Public, being very accustomed to being told what is best for them, look at Person A and their eyes glaze over. They listen politely until person A is done “Selling” them on whatever epiphany they had, then they go about their way. Sometimes, Person A will encounter someone that actually listens and then a few different things usually happen.

They tell Person A, “I knew that already.”

OR, they disagree with Person A which causes even more turmoil for Person A than The Public not listening.

OR, they label Person A with whatever convenient term they think applies to him/her. Common labels are: “conspiracy theorist”, “new ager”, “kook”, “Jesus freak”, etc.

The reason this is happens is two-fold.

Person A is excited, energized, and enthusiastic about their discovery AND SINCERELY BELIEVES THAT THE WORLD WOULD BE BETTER, if Everyone would just _______.

CAUSES

Another reason SS/CWMD occurs is due to our cultures predominant exercise of looking outward for validation and verification of an internal truth. We have been told that our external world is a reflection of our worth, therefore, it’s only common to WANT OTHER PEOPLE TO RECOGNIZE OUR GROWTH.

How else can we be sure that’s real?

It’s kinda like going to the gym or exercising regularly. At first, no one notices the changes taking place. YOU KNOW CHANGES ARE TAKING PLACE because you are sore, tired, etc… Yet, no one can see it.

After a few weeks of consistent exercise, people that know you may notice a difference, but, for the most part, the world doesn’t respond any different to you.

After a few months, the people closest to you cannot help but remark on how you have changed AND NOW THE REST OF THE WORLD SEES YOU AS A FIT AND LEAN PERSON. The rest of the world had no idea what you were like before you started working out, they just think that YOU’RE IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE, and probably always have been.

Internal, spiritual, and cognitive shifts are perceived in a similar manner.

When we find something we really like, it’s only natural to want to share it. The problem though is that UNTIL WE INTEGRATE THE CHANGE INTO OUR LIFE COMPLETELY, no can believe us.

We look like out of shape people telling Everyone how great working out and going to the gym is.

TREATMENT

Treating SS/CWMD is quite simple.

Read that again. Note that I did not write EASY.

There is a difference.

Treating the disorder requires an understanding that while the event, truth, realization that you had is valid, true, and poignant for you, IT MIGHT NOT BE FOR EVERYONE ELSE… RIGHT NOW.

A friend recently put it this way,

“…we are all taking different routes, to the same place.”

It’s totally normal to be excited and and enthusiastic. Real growth actually REQUIRES that type of energy behind it. We don’t need to convince Everyone else though. They are already on their journey.

If they look at you and notice a change and ASK you what you’ve been doing. By all means, share, inform, inspire! There’s nothing wrong in trying to educate and inform. People make entire careers out of it.

The difference is found in the gap that exists between TALKING about something, and actually DOING it.

I like to say that leading a horse to water is a kind and generous, life sustaining act… anything beyond that though is just talking to the wrong end of the horse.

SUMMARY

We all want to change the world for the better. That is a great thing.

The change will come from DO’ing and BE’ing the change. It can feel isolated and lonely at first, and that is because we a literally between two worlds. Once we fully enter the new world we’ve carved out by living our truth, we find “like minds”, and often “family” that we never knew we had.

Yes we need to talk and get the word out, that is important.

If we change ourselves though, with consistent practice, sincerity, enthusiasm, and excitement, we won’t have to sell anything though. People will be lined up asking how they can get some of whatever it is that we have.

At that point, it’s not even selling. It’s simply offering.

And which do you prefer? To be sold something or to be offered something?

Now…
